you know, ed, congressman john lewis was here in ohio just this past friday at a program i was the m.c. for him to talk about what happened to him on bloody sunday, he had an apple and orange and two books standing in the ready position just to have the right to vote. this is the least we can do in the state of ohio to show solidarity for poor folks and the middle class and for women and for elderly folks and students to show that we understand how we got over and our soul looks back and wonders how we got over and we are not going to let some republicans stop us from exercising our right to vote. we stand up for the middle class in this state and in this nation and we are standing strong for our foremothers and forefathers. that's why the early vote is so important and that's why i think that the vote early is going to be bigger and better than it was in 2008 because we're going to show the republicans there ain't no stopping us now because we're on the move. >> all right. ohio sate senator nina turner with us tonight from ohio. great to have you with us tonight. early voting starts t

it's john sununu. there's not much to it. obviously obama's not lazy and disengaged. >> he left a lot of facts on the side of the road last night. the people sitting at home were screaming at their tv sets. we can't ignore that. >> you can disagree with what he's doing on these things whether foreign policy or domestic but he's not lazy or disengaged. we're overlooking the simple fact obama is not that good a debater. he wasn't that great a debater in the democratic primary. he did fine against john mccain but it wasn't acceptable. last night he clearly lost. one thing i'm hearing from democratic sources is he didn't end up with one of those moments that's going to haunt him. >> no, i don't think so. he doesn't lose any supporters and he certainly recovers from this, but we can't have any more like that. i say that. sam stein, e.j. dionne, great to have you with us tonight. >>> next, we debunk romney's $5 trillion tax lie with david k. johnston. stay with us. >>> mitt romney tried hard last night to make up ground with middle

if mitt romney would pick up the phone and call john boehner, join our effort, we're putting pressure on boehner to pass this. 20 senators have signed a letter. come to our grass roots. put pressure on boehner. we'll schedule this trade enforcement legislation for china. that will make a real difference in jobs. not the stuff that romney is talking about. >> you're not going to get a letter from mitt romney. you have a great idea, senator, but any candidate that would use forced workers to be props in a campaign, i wouldn't count on him for anything. sherrod brown with us here on "the ed show." lots more coming up in the next half hour. stay right here. >>> voter i.d., which is going to allow mitt romney to win the state of pennsylvania, done. >> republican voter suppression in pennsylvania is dealt a death blow in the courts. but the cheating goes on in colorado. tonight an update on the rnc voter fraud scandal. >>> early voting starts today. today. >> the first lady is firing up supporters as voters swarm the polls. we'll bring you the latest on ohio early voting. >>> and mitt romne
